The Guyana Manufacturing & Services Association’s (GMSA) mission is to provide leadership and institutional capacity to initiate, advocate and promote policies and programmes for the development of the production, manufacturing and services sectors to ensure compliance with global best practices and due regard for social and environmental issues. The GMSA was established over 60 years ago. In 2024, its membership continues to grow with over 300 manufacturers and service providers. Every member benefits from strong lobbying on new and existing issues affecting his/her business at Governmental and Diplomatic levels. The GMSA supports and assists 8 sub-sectors, namely Agriculture, Agro-Processing, Construction & Engineering, Extractive Industries, Services, ICT, Sewn Goods & Textiles and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals.
The Guyana Office for Investment specializes in investment promotion and facilitation, serving as the primary contact for investors and coordinating with government agencies throughout the investment process. The agency provides comprehensive information on starting business operations in Guyana, including incentives and relevant regulations. Investment opportunity profiles are provided, as well as assistance in securing resources, and the promotion of joint ventures between local and overseas interests. Additionally, focus is placed on export promotion by providing trade information, aiding exporters in exhibitions and trade missions, and addressing export-related issues. Advice is provided to the government on national investment and export policies, ensuring effective policy implementation.
The Suriname Investment and Trade Agency (SITA) is the national Trade and Investment Promotion Agency of Suriname. Operating as an independent state-owned company under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business, and International Cooperation, SITA aims to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and support foreign investors in establishing their businesses in Suriname. Additionally, SITA promotes Surinamese exports, helping local companies form international commercial ties and facilitating the export of products by international investors.
