Minister Indar hales from Vreed en Hoop on the West Coast of Demerara, he attended St. Stanislaus College after which he furthered his studies at the University of East London (MBA), the Certified General Accountants of Canada and at the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA, CGA). He is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and noteworthy enough, he graduated with Bachelor’s Degree with honours in Applied Finance and Professional Accounting (BSA) from Oxford Brookes University in London.

The current Minister is also responsible for the Management of the Energy Sector and is the Vice-President of International Solar Alliance of the Latin American Country (LAC). Honorable Minister Deodat Indar held the position as President at Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vice Chairman at the Private Sector Commission. Former Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Corporate Secretary at Sterling Products Limited.

As Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, he envisages to bring his finance, business, operations skills and professionalism to the forefront of the Ministry. This will ensure efficiency and accountability is accomplished within the Ministry.

Outside of politics and work portfolios, Minister Indar enjoys spending quality time with his wife and beautiful children.
