Mr. Komal Singh is seen by many as a pioneer in his field. 28 years ago he, along with his wife, founded Gaico Construction. Over the years due to his determination and vision, Gaico has become one of the most diverse companies in Guyana and is continuously expanding. 8 years ago Singh saw opportunities in Guyana rising and realised that in order to capture the chance, he needed foreign partners with the necessary expertise. As a result he is now in business with companies from the UK, USA and Canada.

Apart from his business endeavours, Singh also dedicates his time into helping the community as he is very conscious of the struggles entailed in getting to where you want to be, as not long ago he too was a little boy with a dream. His days working as a farmer, then taxi driver, then accountant and marketing manager, had taught him to appreciate the little things in life and also how he can use his position to help the youth of today to achieve their dreams also. Due to these humanitarian practices, Singh holds under his belt a National Medal of Service, a Hind Rattan Award of India and the Ministry of Education High Commendation Award. These tokens have encouraged him to carry on in his endeavours of helping to build Guyana and is now on many boards inclusive of the National Disability Council and Shipping Association of Guyana.

Singh believes that in order to grow a nation, everyone must play a part in laying the blocks, and he aims to use his position in the business world to provide these opportunities to the people of Guyana.
